Frequently asked questions

The things people ask most about Tiel Pal and Peep.

What is Tiel Pal?

Tiel Pal is a wellness app built around Peep, a cartoon cockatiel based on a real bird. You log food, water, movement, sleep and mood, and Peep's crest rises as your day comes together.

Is Peep a real bird?

Yes. The character is based on a real cockatiel called Peep, including her markings and her favourite spot on top of her cage.

Do I need an account?

No. You can try the demo with just a name, and your progress stays in that browser. Create a free account if you'd like your progress to follow you between devices.

Is there a phone app?

Not yet. Tiel Pal runs in your web browser, so it works on your phone without a download.

Does Peep really recognise my food from a photo?

Yes, with a free account. Peep gives her best guess at the meal, the portion and a rough calorie range, and you can correct it. Photos can't show everything, such as oil or butter, so treat it as an estimate. The no-account demo uses sample results. You can scan up to 10 photos a day.

Is Peep an AI?

Not yet. Her chat replies are scripted for now, and they're based on what you've logged today.

What are seeds?

Seeds are rewards you earn by logging your day. You can spend them on Peep's wardrobe and new scenes. They are never sold.

Is my data private?

Your account data is stored in the EU, and security rules mean each person can only reach their own progress. Meal photos are sent to Anthropic's AI to identify the food, and we don't keep them. You can delete your account and all your data from the Insights screen at any time.

Is Tiel Pal medical advice?

No. Tiel Pal is for general wellbeing and isn't a medical service. Speak to a healthcare professional about any health concerns.
